Fellows’ Stories

Carolina Amaral presents Já t’Explico, a volunteer initiative founded by students from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at the University of Porto, aimed at addressing educational inequality in Portugal.

Aimed at students from the 5th to the 9th grades, particularly those from socioeconomically vulnerable backgrounds, the project offers not only academic support but also mentoring, cultural and recreational activities, and vocational guidance.

Since 2015, the association has supported around 150 children, thanks to the involvement of more than 600 volunteers.

Carolina emphasises the importance of volunteering and invites everyone to play an active role in building a fairer future.
