The action recreates the energy of Brazil’s trains and subways – spaces of cultural resistance and popular gathering – transposing this dynamic to the exhibition spaces.
The artist travels through the exhibition centres creating improvised rhymes that dialogue with the works on display and with the public, establishing poetic bridges between Brazilian and Portuguese cultures, between the margins and the centre, between the street and the museum.
The choice of an artist from the south bank of the Tagus – a symbolic territory that echoes Brazil’s own condition of being ‘on the other side’ – creates a poetic mirror with the experience of the Brazilian diaspora.
This event is part of the complementary programme for the exhibition complexo brasil, curated by José Miguel Wisnik, Guilherme Wisnik and Milena Britto.
