Location
Main Gallery Lower Gallery Calouste Gulbenkian FoundationThis major exhibition brings together artworks, documents, texts, immersive rooms, original films and specially commissioned videos.
The exhibition starts from the idea that what we call Brazil (a country made of many Brasis) is the complex result of a vast colonial action in which Portugal transported Africas to the Americas and claimed for itself an immense indigenous land.
The show proposes to offer Portuguese and Brazilian audiences alike a shared mirror – a rediscovery of Brazil that is also a reciprocal rediscovery. This is especially urgent and relevant today, when the Brazilian presence in Portugal is both expressive and complex, marked by interactions and tensions alike.
The tour in Portuguese costs 100,00 € per group plus the exhibition ticket value and in other languages costs 120,00 € per group plus the exhibition ticket value. All tours must be booked at least two weeks in advance.
