“Equality of individuals in their cultural difference” is the main motto of this multidisciplinary artistic project, focusing on the Roma community of Bairro do Zambujal, in Amadora. The name of the project (Identical Radiographs) is derived from the realisation that equality based on difference resembles the observation of a radiological image, which shows the skeleton as the structure that supports us all.

Dance, visual arts, theatre and documentaries play a central role in this project, the intervention of which is divided into three areas: the “school”, involving students and teachers from the Escola Básica do Alto dos Moinhos primary school; the “community”, in the neighbourhood; and “culture”, which includes visits by the project’s members to various leading cultural institutions in the city of Lisbon.

The project, with artistic coordination by Fernando Duarte, is supported by the 1st edition of the PARTIS & Art for Change initiative.
