Carolina presents her research project exploring the relationship between physical activity, cancer treatment, and lipids – small molecules responsible for storing energy and transporting vitamins in the body.

Her study found that regular exercise helps reduce certain lipids, leading to lower body fat and a decreased likelihood of tissue inflammation.

By combining specific proteins with these lipids, her work could pave the way for new personalised therapies that reproduce the benefits of physical activity for people with limited mobility or who are unable to exercise.
