With a career spanning more than 25 years, including a decade accompanying musicians such as Cesária Évora, Madonna, Sara Tavares, Angélique Kidjo, Cuca Roseta, Sona Jobarteh, Bitori, Rui Veloso, among others, Miroca Paris has been on stages all over the world since the release of his first solo album, D’alma (2017).
Known for writing songs rooted in the rich rhythms of the Atlantic islands, to which he adds a fresh sound, groovy guitars and a distinctive, warm voice, Miroca sets out to spread his love of Morna (a UNESCO cultural heritage site) internationally.
After his album Live (2021), he will release his new album BIA, dedicated to his grandmother and life on the islands, at the end of 2025.
About the concerts
This year, the Summer Garden invites us to embark on a journey of sound where the soul dances and the body recognises itself.
From Fado to Funaná, from Semba to Gumbé, from Axé to Mbalax, passing through the eternity of Soul Music — each rhythm will be a compass and each song a territory.
To the sound of these ancestral and contemporary beats, we will land in the living imagination of countries such as Senegal, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Angola, Brazil and Portugal.
Places where time becomes a drum and memory is sung with eyes closed.
A true celebration of what unites us: the pulse of freedom that resists, persists and insists on being a party.
