Location
Room 1 Calouste Gulbenkian FoundationMuleca XIII and Sam The Kid come from different geographies, but they share the same soil: Hip Hop. A territory where alternative narratives are born, memories are recovered and resistance is forged. In this meeting, we talk about language, place and legacy, and how art can transform what the external gaze stigmatises.
Language is heritage, but it is also invention.
About the cycle of talks
Following a programming logic more geared towards the Hip Hop movement, a counter-culture movement that was born as an expression of the dissatisfaction, rebellion and contestation of peripheral bodies, and taking into account the most recent events that have brought the discussion about the right to dignity and housing into the public sphere, this series of talks was conceived by Cláudia Semedo as a place for intervention by the new builders of an idea of community that breaks with the stigma placed on the Neighbourhoods and their People.
