We end the ‘Power and Glory’ film cycle with a trip to the New York Public Library, a place of openness, cultural exchange and learning. The session includes a conversation between curator Pedro Mexia and Miguel Tamen.

Filmed between September and December 2015, Ex-libris shows the various spaces of the New York Public Library, spread across Manhattan, the Bronx and Staten Island, depicting the various activities it carries out, from book clubs to braille classes to administrative meetings.

One of the most democratic institutions in the United States, the library aims to be a resource for all the inhabitants of this multifaceted and cosmopolitan city, promoting knowledge, strengthening a sense of belonging and inspiring community learning.

Film in English, with Portuguese subtitles. This session includes an intermission.
