The third part of the ‘Power and Glory’ film cycle kicks off with the award-winning documentary Hospital, directed by Frederick Wiseman at the Metropolitan Hospital Center in New York.

An intimate look at the daily life of one of New York’s largest hospitals, the film follows various medical cases in an almost episodic way, focusing on the emergency department and outpatient consultations.

With no soundtrack or narration, the documentary portrays a staff that is committed and generous, but limited by an overburdened healthcare system.

Film in English, with Portuguese subtitles.
