In this documentary, Frederick Wiseman follows a semester at the University of California, Berkeley, one of the most prestigious in the United States.

For three months in 2010, Wiseman wanders through corridors, classrooms, gardens and other corners of the Berkeley campus during a period of crisis, revealing the main aspects of academic life.

The director also had unprecedented access behind the scenes of the administration, showing the institution’s efforts to maintain academic excellence while facing the significant budget cuts to which it was subjected.

Film in English, with Portuguese subtitles. This session includes two intermissions.
