Shot in 2004 by Frederick Wiseman, the film State Legislature follows the daily activities of the Idaho legislature during an entire session.

Interested in showing one of the most basic political systems in the United States of America, Wiseman gathered over 160 hours of footage, which resulted in this three and a half hour documentary.

An example of the achievements and constraints of the democratic process, the film portrays the debate around the electorate’s concerns, ranging from violence in schools, mad cow disease and illegal immigration.

Film in English, with Portuguese subtitles. This session includes two intermissions.
