Of São Tomean descent, though born in Portugal, Marfox is one of this century’s pioneers in the production of Afro-Portuguese music and a prominent figure in Lisbon’s urban landscape. In 2006 he released his debut compilation DJs do Guetto Vol. 1. Eu Sei Quem Sou (2012) is his first EP released through the label Príncipe, which he helped to establish. The EP was later re-released by the London label Pollinate Records and by the North American label Lit City Trax. His latest EP, Chapa Quente, was released in 2016. He has performed across Europe, America, Africa and Asia.
