An established name in the Portuguese Afro House scene, Buruntuma is considered by many to be a modern-day griot. The traditional music of Guinea-Bissau, where he was born, is one of his main creative elements, to which he adds sounds from West Africa and the Suburbs of Lisbon. His sounds have made waves through most of Europe, where he has performed in well known clubs in Berlin, Paris, Cologne and Rotterdam.
