Portugal receives two EMBO grants for the study of genome and cancer

Marco Fumasoni, from the Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência (IGC), and Ana Luísa Correia, from the Champalimaud Foundation, are the two life scientists in Portugal awarded with EMBO Installation Grants in the 2022 edition. The funded projects will deepen understanding, respectively, of the evolution of genome maintenance mechanisms, as well as the process of dormancy in tumour cells, and how to target such cells for long-term effective treatment of metastatic cancer.
