João de Almeida Pedro holds a bachelor’s in Pharmacy, a master’s degree in Science Education and a Ph.D. in Public Health. Since 1999, Research, Academia and management as always been part of his professional pathway. After 4 years in a public hospital and 10 years as a professor of higher education (2 years acting as Vice-President) in the health field, he joined the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation in 2013 as a Project Manager, focusing on Health and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) in Portuguese Speaking African Countries. Currently, as a Certified Senior Program Manager (IPMA level B), he joined the Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência managing team acting as Logistics Coordinator, ensuring that our top life science researchers have the best conditions to operate.
