IGC - CONGENTO Course on Laboratory Animal Science in Mouse and Zebrafish

The IGC is organizing a new Course on Laboratory Animal Sciences (LAS) in Mouse and Zebrafish.

This is a CONGENTO harmonized program course, and its contents will follow the European Commission Guidance for Education and Training for Functions A+C+D (Performing procedures + Taking care of animals + Euthanasia), under the Directive 2010/62/EU.

This Course is directed to users of Animal Facilities that need to be authorized by DGAV (Direção Geral de Alimentação e Veterinária) in order to work with vertebrate animals, which is only granted after performing such a course, and includes both Practical and Theoretical parts, planned as follows:

Theoretical part: is an e-learning course provided by CONGENTO, a new format with reviewed and updated contents, resulting from a collaborative effort of the 4 CONGENTO institutions: FC, IGC, iMM, and NMS. Estimated online access on 03 April 2023.

Practical part: held at IGC from 15 – 19 May 2023. Attendance to all practical sessions is mandatory so, please do not register in the practical part if you cannot attend all lectures. 

Important note: Please register in this Course only if you plan to use animals in the short-medium run and for the species that you will need do use. Please, discuss this need with your PI.
