The Art of Biography

Since 2002 Maria Antónia Oliveira has been dedicating her work to the biographical genre in the form of essays and biographical narratives. She is the author of Não. Uma Biografia do Ar.Co (2014), Alexandre ONeill, Uma Biografia Literária (2007), A Tristeza Contentinha de Alexandre ONeill (1992) and Os Biógrafos de Camilo (doctoral thesis, 2010).

Currently, she is writing the biography of Cesário Verde and teaches the Biographical Writing course at the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences (FSCH) of Nova University in Lisbon. Maria Antónia Oliveira is one of the speakers invited to discuss ‘the art of biography’ in an international conference dedicated to this form of literature.
