Born and raised in Marvila, with an unmistakable voice which borrows his African roots to Soul and Gospel, Ruben Matay brings freshness to the current Pop scene. After making appearances on stages from north to south of the country with bands like Dengaz, Soul Gospel Project, Gospel Collective, and Boss AC, Matay embraced his solo career.

With several successes to his name – “Dizer que Não” (ft. Dengaz), “O Que Tu Dás,” “Não Chores Mais” (ft. Agir), and “Por Favor (Diz-me)” (ft. Boss AC) – Matay’s talent has been recognized by the public. Alongside his musical career, he tirelessly engages in socio-cultural animation work in the Boavista neighborhood.
