Born in São Paulo, Brazil, Maria Emília has been accompanying her father, a guitarist, to the Fado houses of her hometown since a young age. As a teenager, she left Brazil for Portugal, where she continued to sing Fado. Since then, she has been establishing herself as one of the great voices of the new generation of Fado singers.

After releasing her debut album, Casa de Fado (2018), Maria Emília has graced numerous stages in Portugal and beyond, performing in Spain, Algeria, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Brazil, New York, South Africa, Sweden, and the Netherlands, always with great success. “Fado Enamorado” is the first single from her upcoming album, which is set to be released soon.
