A true nomad of sonic landscapes, Remna Schwarz is considered an African treasure by his peers. Singer, guitarist, and composer born in Senegal, with a Cape Verdean mother and Guinean father, he has lived in Congo, Mali, Senegal, Guinea-Bissau, Cape Verde, France, Cuba, the USA, and Portugal, where he settled.
In his unique artistic language, rooted in the fusion of rhythmic, sonic, and stylistic influences from the places he has traveled, Remna has released several works under his own name — Saltana (2013), Zona Zero (2019), and most recently, Gaabu (2022) — and he has also composed and produced music for other artists, including Karyna Gomes, Eneida Marta, and Fernando Ferreira.
