Singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Toty Sa’Med, one of the cult figures of contemporary Angolan music, returns to the Summer Garden.

Despite his youth, he has been a leading figure in Angolan music for years, even with a limited discography under his own name, notably the 2016 EP Ingombota and the more recent Moxi, which in the Kimbundu language means “first” or “number 1.”

His talent as a singer and multi-instrumentalist is well known to anyone who has seen him on stage, particularly his virtuosity on the guitar, and he is in high demand for a wide variety of collaborations, including with Sara Tavares, Aline Frazão, Dino D’Santiago, José Eduardo Agualusa, Luedji Luna, Capicua, and others.

His music, a new Kaluanda soul, transports us to the warm nights of Luanda, to the Afro-cosmopolitan corners of Lisbon, or to the funk-tinged urban avenues of Rio de Janeiro or New York.
