Combining sounds from Africa and its diaspora, Indi Mateta’s DJ sets return to the 2026 Summer Garden, ready to brighten up the evenings at Engawa.

As a DJ, Indi Mateta performs eclectic sets that bring together past and present, mixing ancestral sounds and contemporary urban music, acoustic and electronic. The genres she plays most often are Afro house – in its deep, soulful, and tech subgenres – hip house or house rap, kuduro, batida, and qgom.

Besides music, Indi Mateta expresses herself artistically through photography, videoart, installation, documentary film and performance. She’s also the founder of Ondjoy, an event that integrates music and wellness drawing on intuition and ancestral knowledge.
