One of Cape Verde’s most expressive and iconic voices, Nancy Vieira takes the Grand Auditorium stage for a lively concert, part of the Summer Garden programme.

Nancy Vieira gives voice to her homeland music, evoking, at the same time, encounters with artists of other nationalities, either European, African, Brazilian or Latin American in general.

Mixing Cape Verde’s tradition – mornas, coladeiras, batucos and funanás –, with the island’s new sounds, the artist presents her most recent work, Gente, which defies the usual ways of producing music, centered in the idea of a sole producer, developing a shared practice, where musicians of different nationalities, genders and ages contribute with new ideas.
