Born in Osasco, São Paulo, with influences ranging from Jorge Ben to Djavan and Chico Science’s manguebeat, singer-songwriter Jota.pê embarked on a solo career in 2015, releasing several singles and the album Crónicas de um Sonhador. A talented multi-instrumentalist with a deep and calm voice, he has performed at TEDx and Sofar Sounds, played at festivals like Primavera Sound and COMA, and participated in The Voice Brasil. He released the EP Garoa in 2021 and, after several performances throughout Brazil, embarked on his first European tour in 2022.

Alongside his solo project, he collaborates with Bruna Black in the duo Àvuà. Together, they performed at ColorsxStudios and interpreted one of the tracks from Onze (2021) – an album of unreleased songs by composer Adoniran Barbosa, sung by artists from different genres and generations, and nominated for a Latin Grammy Award for Best Samba/Pagode Album.
