Gulbenkian Prizes

Prizes are awarded annually and are distributed as follows: Calouste Gulbenkian Prize, in the Human Rights category, which in 2018 is dedicated to the theme of freedom of expression, information and press; and the Gulbenkian Prizes, in the Cohesion, Knowledge and Sustainability categories.

The Calouste Gulbenkian Prize in the Human Rights category is an award worth 100 thousand euros, and the Gulbenkian Prizes in the Cohesion, Knowledge and Sustainability categories are awards worth 50 thousand euros each.

Individuals or non-profit private legal entities which have distinguished themselves internationally in the defence and promotion of Human Rights on the issue of freedom of expression, information and press, can apply. Applications must be submitted in english.

Gulbenkian Prizes
Cohesion, Knowledge and Sustainability

Individuals and non-profit private legal entities which have distinguished themselves in Portugal in the defence and promotion of Cohesion, Knowledge and Sustainability, can apply. Applications must be submitted in portuguese.
