Jonathan Demme follows the band at the height of their career, creating an immersive experience for the audience. The film starts with singer David Byrne alone on the stage, which takes shape gradually as the other elements are brought together.
Filmed during the course of three nights, the documentary includes the band’s first hits, like Psycho Killer, the latest singles at the time, as well as songs from the singer’s solo repertoire and from the Tom Tom Club project, by drummer Chris Frantz and bassist Tina Weymouth.
Hailed by critics as one of the best concert films ever made, Stop Making Sense is an essential film for Talking Heads fans, offering a glimpse into the New Wave scene of the late 1970s and early 1980s.
Don’t Look Back
This event is part of the film cycle “Don’t Look Back”, which includes six documentaries and film-concerts.
