Don’t Look Back
Film cycle / 19 – 27 Sep. Free admission
Over two weekends, the Grand Auditorium will host a film cycle, featuring six music documentaries and concert films about Bob Dylan, The Beatles, The Band, Talking Heads, Prince and the Harlem Cultural Festival.
Across the six films, different approaches are explored to the intersection between music, art and avant-garde movements, social movements and mass culture, as well as various forms of visual documentation of what is so often an ephemeral event.
Spanning media as diverse as documentary, cinema and music videos, the programme reflects on the role of music and musicians, who so often anticipate the spirit of their times.
The screenings will be introduced by different guests.
Join the Cartão Gulbenkian for free and book up to two tickets the day before each event.
