Filmed during Bob Dylan’s famous transitional period to rock and the electrical guitar, this documentary follows the musician from his arrival in England, on April 26th 1965, and the last concert of the tour at the Royal Albert Hall, on May 10th.
The director had access to the backstage, offering a glimpse into Dylan’s public and private life, from concerts to hotel room conversations, recording his tumultuous relationship with singer-songwriter Joan Baez during a critical phase of his musical career.
A number of well-known figures are featured in the film: Dylan’s agents Albert Grossman and Bob Neuwirth, musicians Donovan, Joan Baez, Marianne Faithfull and Alan Price (Animals), and the beat poet, Dylan’s close friend, Allan Ginsberg, among others.
