PE_SOA: The day when the people of Ansiães celebrate the future
Assuming that all places reflect the bodies that inhabit and fill them, this project begins by listening to the invisibilities in each of the communities involved. The artistic association Lugar Específico, with its multidisciplinary bodies, gave each meeting the time and space needed to listen to ideas, needs and desires.

Over the course of several weeks, a programme of multidisciplinary activities was developed for the communities of Carrazeda de Ansiães and São João da Madeira, based on the observation and re-interpretation of the local cultural heritage and the revival of interaction between the local people.
We explored the possibilities of sharing (traditional) knowledge, dancing, making films, singing, painting, telling stories, weaving and creating together. The aim was to encourage these communities to become more involved in building their present and their future.
O dia em que os ansiães celebram o futuro was the result of the work of many hands and bodies. The two multidisciplinary creations were shared with the public in a grand celebration.
The project was developed as part of ATOS, an initiative of the D. Maria II National Theatre and the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.
