Nós, quem somos?

Who are we?

Us. The starting point for the development of this project was the emotional, poetic charge of this word. It is a feeling that unites us, an action that brings us together, a commonplace.

On our way to Castelo Branco we hoped to meet different communities, different “us”, and create a new one of which we would be a part. We spoke about and revealed ourselves in conversations, in opinions and ideas, in the sound and look of things. We spoke about and revealed ourselves in different languages. Like embroidery, like a loom that goes back and forth almost around the clock, we explored all sides of ourselves, weaving, uniting. So, who are we now? Who is inside and outside of us? Is it still possible to get to know each other better, to sew, mend and weave again? We are searching for a feeling that unites us, something that brings us closer together, a creation that weaves us together.

The project was developed as part of ATOS, an initiative of the D. Maria II National Theatre and the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.
