Mapping Desires
The Cartografia dos Desejos project invites participants to reflect on and manifest their desires, both conscious and unconscious. It is a process of building a different fabric of ourselves – as an organic and permanent movement of going from what could be to what we actually achieve.

It proposes activating the will to create and desire as a group, as an urgent way of building a different and new future.
Why is it sometimes so difficult to determine the path to take?”, “How do you know which way to go?” You have to listen to desire! Desire draws lines, and all these lines together form a huge patchwork, a web of words, actions, scenes, things that entangle us up in a world yet to be discovered! It’s as if an inner map is being drawn inside us, flowing from our heart and stomach to the soles of our feet. We walk on and on, and each point we reach is a new starting point. Desire means arrival and departure!
The project was developed as part of ATOS, an initiative of the D. Maria II National Theatre and the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.
