Assembleia

Assembly

This exercise involved listening and watching. We photographed the people and the territory. The process involved seven ambassadors from the territory and dozens of people from the municipality, who went out into the field to collect photographs and conduct dramaturgical research.

Gatherings were held to engage in political reflection and critical rhetoric on the basis of the photographs collected, giving the participants the opportunity to talk about themselves and their territory, focusing on the people and landscapes, on themselves and on future possibilities. On Sunday afternoon, everyone was able to share the process publicly, showing the photos and asking questions based on the reflections from the meetings. The Diary of an Assembly, a journal containing photos and texts of the work carried out, was also distributed at the time of the public sharing.

The project was developed as part of ATOS, an initiative of the D. Maria II National Theatre and the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.
