Impact ecosystem in Europe
The Edmond de Rothschild Foundations and the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation celebrate a partnership to strengthen the impact ecosystem in Europe focused on supporting entrepreneurs, civil society, universities, investors and public sector leaders. The partnership also aims to create global synergies in common areas to the foundations, in particular, artistic practices.
The formalisation of the partnership between the Edmond de Rothschild Foundations and the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation follows several successful initiatives that have been performed together in recent years like the Bootcamp of the Ariane Rothschild Fellowship that took place at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation in March 2018.
The Foundations are also founding partners of the new accelerator for impact startups called Maze X that will start in May this year. The accelerator will select the ten most promising startups from across Europe to work for nine months in Lisbon. During the program, the startups will implement pilot projects with large corporates, they will optimise their business models to address the most pressing social and environmental issues of our time. The accelerator Maze X is promoted by MAZE, an impact investment company founded by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation in 2013 and which acts as the first vehicle of the implementation of this partnership.
