Grand Auditorium Calouste Gulbenkian FoundationMarina Viotti, sister of the conductor Lorenzo Viotti, had her Gulbenkian Music debut in December 2020, when the two teamed up to bring Francis Poulenc’s lyrical tragedy La Voix Humaine to the stage. Prior to that auspicious first concert in the Grand Auditorium, the mezzo-soprano had been voted ‘Best Young Singer of the Year’ in London in the year (2019) the Swiss conductor shared with us his vision of Mozart’s Requiem. The two have joined together again to share another masterpiece, the Requiem that Verdi wrote after visiting the grave of Alessandro Manzoni, a novelist and poet he greatly admired.
