Since he took over the artistic leadership of the Gulbenkian Orchestra, Lorenzo Viotti has left several personal touches on each musical season’s programming. In these last concerts as Principal Conductor of the Gulbenkian Orchestra he combines the symbolism of Debussy’s Prélude à l’après-midi d’un Faune with the shadow of Beethoven in Brahms’ First Symphony, and partially resumes the programme of his first performance, in January 2017, recalling the ethereal beauty of Chausson’s Poème de l’amour et de la mer, now with the collaboration of the French tenor Benjamin Bernheim.
