Location
Learning Space Centro de Arte Moderna GulbenkianIt is aimed at teachers, museum educators, and other art educators, and seeks to provide them with tools to introduce the principles of Art Thinking – a methodology developed by María Acaso – into their practice both in museums and in the classroom.
Through this course, participants will be encouraged to rethink how they develop their work by experimenting with new approaches where artistic thinking becomes the driving force behind the generation of knowledge. By understanding the arts as a methodology rather than merely as content, they will gain tools to transform their practices through what we call artistic thinking – drawing on divergent thinking, pleasure, the conception of education as cultural production, and collaborative project-based work.
The methodology applied will stand midway between a training activity and an artistic project created from works on display at the Centro de Arte Moderna.
This course is intended for teachers of various educational levels, cultural mediators, art educators, and museum educators. Non-accredited course. The course will be conducted in Spanish without simultaneous translation (however, the instructor understands Portuguese). Duration: 2 and a half days, from 10:00 to 17:30, with a break from 13:00 to 14:30 – on April 12, from 10:00 to 13:00.
