Saco da Baixa

Isto é PARTIS & Art for Change

Event Slider

This exhibition showcases the work carried out under the Saco da Baixa project, between guest artists and a group of women over the age of 55 who live in the historical centre of Coimbra.

The Saco da Baixa [Downtown Bag] project uses the arts and creativity as vehicles of connection, self-awareness and appreciation of the individual and group.

The feminine archetypes and the representation thereof were moulded using textile sculpture and felting techniques, in a process of personal and transpersonal transformation involving conceptual thinking, manual work and collaborative effort in the construction of the sculptures.

The combination of textiles and sound arts seeks to awaken and add the sense of hearing, which is key in collaborative creations. The ecological potential of creative processes is also demonstrated through the reuse of materials.
