The Mystical Spirit of Bulgarian Folklore

Duration approximately: 60 min.

Founded in 1997 by one of the great virtuosos of the kaval (a traditional Balkan and Anatolian flute), the Nedyalko Nedyalkov Quartet owes its name to the musician whose career has crossed paths with Jordi Savall’s projects on several occasions. At Gulbenkian Music, Nedyalkov performs with a line-up of four exceptional soloists, including the magnificent voice of Stoimenka Nedyalkova. They bring to the stage a set of songs and instrumental themes from Bulgarian folklore, evocative of the country’s character and spirituality. Music charged with the emotional intensity that the group prides itself on.
