When Lucas Debargue made his world debut in Moscow in 2015, Olivier Bellamy on the Huffington Post website didn’t spare his praise: “There hasn’t been a foreign pianist who has caused such a stir since Glenn Gould’s arrival in Moscow in the midst of the Cold War, or Van Cliburn’s victory at the Tchaikovsky Competition.” Keen to present to the public less well-known works, the artistic vision and creative freedom of a talent that claims its rightful place have left their mark from the start. Before joining Orquestra Gulbenkian on the 7th and 8th October, Debargue will perform in this recital with works by Ravel and Fauré.
