Two years after the first edition of the Salavisa European Dance Award (SEDA), the prize is now attributed to one of the new finalists, among whom are Chiara Bersani (Italy), Dan Daw (Australia), Jefta van Dinther (Netherlands/Sweden), Lukas Avendaño (Mexico) and Mamela Nyamza (South Africa).
Selected by three independent specialists – llgaz Gurur Ertem, La Ribot and River Lin –, the winner will be awarded 150 thousand euros and the opportunity to present their work at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and on the stages of the partner institutions: Dansehallerne (Denmark), Fondazione Fabbrica Europa per le arti contemporanee ETS (Italy), Joint Adventures (Germany), KVS (Belgium), Maison de la Danse/Biennale de La Danse (France), Mercat de les Flors (Spain), Sadler’s Wells (United Kingdom) and Tanzquartier Wien (Austria).
The ceremony is preceded by the performance Dzudza, by Idio Chichava, winner of the first edition of the SEDA, along with Dorothée Munyaneza. The show is part of the Alkantara Festival 2026 (tickets available on the page of the event).
