An initiative by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, in partnership with the Portuguese Association for Victim Support (APAV), that brings together a group of around 80 professionals from different areas with an interest in and concern for the area of ageing and older people. The vulnerability of the elderly makes them more susceptible to abuse and violence at the hands of family members, caregivers, service providers, individuals and companies who ignore their rights.
In October 2020, the final report on the project will be presented with the main findings of the survey conducted and will include recommendations for a shared agenda for intervention regarding prevention and support for older people who are victims of violence and abuse.
