Ouvidos ao Vento

Ears to the wind

The voice of the other, of others. My voice and that of others. What changes in my voice when it joins the voice of rocks and animals, the voice of the wind and the sun, the voice of wine, of anger, of love, the voice of silence, of sleep, the voice of honey, and the voice of the body?

The baggage that each of these voices carries evokes the sacred and the profane, labour and intimacy, the individual and the social. Through intense work of collecting, researching, experimenting, reflecting and discussing ideas, we will create a restlessness of ideas, with our feet firmly on the ground, with voices that sound like Beja.

The project was developed as part of ATOS, an initiative of the D. Maria II National Theatre and the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.
