The Notas de Contacto project, led by the Portuguese Chamber Orchestra, carries out musical activities and initiatives designed to enhance the abilities of disabled people, improving their quality of life and integration in the community, and helping to promote a more inclusive society.
The artistic focus will be on improvisation and on musical exploration as a form of liberation and artistic expression of participants, aimed at selecting some of the musicians from Notas de Contacto to join the Portuguese Youth Orchestra (JOP). The project includes a performance with 5ª Punkada, a Portuguese band formed by young people from the Cerebral Palsy Association of Coimbra, in a national tour in 2020/21, and composing music to create a repertoire for an “ensemble” to play nationwide.
Building bridges in pandemic times
