Lisboa – Crowdfunding Platform

This projects involves the Câmara Municipal de Lisboa (CML, who leads the project), the Montepio Geral, the Vieira de Almeida & Associados, and the Gulbenkian Foundation.

This project consists of the development of a crowdfunding platform that seeks to resolve the lack of funding for business ideas by connecting the demand (entrepreneurs who need investment in their business ideas and start-ups) to the supply (investors who seek good ideas and projects to invest in).

The platform, launched in June 2014, will address four areas: the housing/rehabilitation sector; the area of research, development and prototyping; ideas based in products and concepts; and, finally, start-ups.

This platform differentiates itself through its focus on projects that will channel national and international investment to encourage ideas and businesses with origin in or application to the metropolitan area of Lisbon.
