Through this project, the Seniors University is active at 11 hubs located in different areas of the municipality of Mértola to reach those who are geographically more isolated and dispersed. It began with a group of students identifying and recording dance and singing practices that have faded away, among the seniors who attend the university. Since then, activities that encourage the participation of older people in preparing and reviving these traditions have been carried out, promoting the past and local traditions of the areas and socialisation as a strategy to combat isolation and to breathe new life into villages.
