An initiative formed with the partnerships of the Gulbenkian Foundation, the COTEC, and the Instituto do Emprego e Formação Profissional, Movimento para o Emprego involves a large number of businesses distinguished by their dynamic management and commitment to the future and to Portuguese society. With the support of active business policies, the businesses associated with the Movimento commit themselves, alongside their social responsibility campaigns, to receiving 5,000 undergraduate, masters, and doctorate student interns (internships last one year in duration). These internships aim to create opportunities for these youths to gain skills, reinforcing the critical competencies required for their success in the job market. The Movimento was launched in May 2013 and will continue until April 2015.
At the end of March 2014, over 1,850 youths had begun their internships in 210 companies.
