New issue of Revista Colóquio dedicated to Brazil
In conjunction with the exhibition complexo brasil, which will occupy the two galleries of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation’s Headquarters Building from 14 November, Revista Colóquio is publishing a special issue devoted to 21st-century Brazilian literature and the arts.
With new graphic design by João Bicker and photographic images by Claudia Andujar, this edition — entitled Este Brasil — brings together a wide range of texts on literature and music, architecture and the visual arts, cinema and theatre, translation and literary magazines. It includes contributions from around seventy contemporary authors and artists, such as Bia Lessa, Luiz Fernando Carvalho, Nuno Ramos, Ricardo Aleixo, Marília Garcia, Caetano Galindo, Veronica Stigger, Bernardo Carvalho and Heloisa Buarque de Hollanda, among many others.
This issue, numbered 220 of the magazine, will have two launch events: the first on Thursday, 6 November, at 19:00 at Livraria da Travessa, and the second on Tuesday, 18 November, at 18:30. in Room 1 of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation. Both sessions will feature António Feijó (Chairman of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees), José Miguel Wisnik (curator of the Complexo Brasil exhibition), and Clara Rowland and Joana Matos Frias (editors of this issue of Colóquio).
Admission is free, subject to venue capacity.
