New ‘Colóquio’ is dedicated to Luís de Camões

'Camões, Novas Artes, Novo Engenho' is the title of the latest volume of the journal, featuring a wide range of texts on the poet, including tributes, essays, and commentaries, drawing on contemporary poetry and criticism, the visual and performing arts, as well as music.

Issue 221 of Colóquio brings together authors such as Gonçalo M. Tavares, Miguel Tamen, Raquel Henriques da Silva, Rui Lage, João R. Figueiredo, Sofia de Sousa Silva, José Maria Vieira Mendes, Rui Torres and Bruno Ministro, Sérgio Dias Branco, Isabel Almeida, Miguel Ramalhete Gomes, Rita Patrício, Hélio Alves, Pedro Duarte de Andrade, among others.

The volume also includes a set of previously unpublished texts by Almada Negreiros, presented by Simão Palmeirim, poems by Julia de Souza, and Excerpts from a diary by Almeida Faria.

In the Notes & Commentary section, Lúcia Evangelista writes about Alberto Pimenta—o poeta e o sociall—while Paulo Alexandre Pereira reflects on Estranho, estrangeiro: José Rodrigues Miguéis and Luís Prista Sobre uma língua que está de passagem por Portugal.

This volume also offers critical readings of around 60 books recently published or reissued in Portuguese. Among these is Gil de Carvalho’s review of two books by Ruy Cinatti released in 2025, which the author was still able to send us before his passing last December.
