Gulbenkian supports organizations caring for the elderly
Giving substance to the strategy of response to the pandemic caused by the new coronavirus, the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, together with ‘Instituto de Segurança Social’, opened a call to support organizations from the civil society that care for the elderly, a group who is highly threatened by the disease.
With the initiative ‘Gulbenkian Cuida’, the Foundation intends to contribute to the reinforcement of response capability of private non-profit organizations so that they can widen the scope of their actions and mitigate the effects of the isolation felt by the elderly while meeting their basic needs and improving their well-being.
Non-profit private institutions working with social solidarity, volunteering and other non-governmental organizations who are already active in this field can apply to ‘Gulbenkian Cuida’ – which may grant a total of 1M Euros – to attend to the special needs raised by the Covid-19 pandemic and reinforce their response capability.
The applications must be submitted until April 7.
