The Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation is a private institution whose main purpose is to improve people’s quality of life through art, charity, science, and education. The Foundation carries out its activities from its headquarters in Lisbon, and from its branches in Paris and London.

We are looking for Stage Electrician to join our Central Services / Stage team, who will be responsible for identifying the necessary equipment according to the action list, handling and ensuring setups, shows, light operation, and disassembly, while guaranteeing equipment maintenance.

Contractual Conditions: Permanent employment contract.

Main Responsibilities

  • Participate in the creation of a lighting design, ensuring the identification and organization of all necessary materials for each setup, according to the requirements of different technical riders.
  • Ensure the setup and tuning of a lighting design in the scenic space, adapting if necessary to the available logistics. Configure the light console in accordance with the operator’s requirements.
  • Operate the light console in accordance with the lighting design and in coordination with the various participants in the show.
  • Perform maintenance and tests on equipment in use or in storage whenever necessary. Manage stocks of all materials in this sector and inform management about what needs to be replenished, repaired, or discarded.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and hygiene rules at work, especially during work at heights.

Required Skills

  • Minimum experience of 2 to 3 years in similar roles, previous experience as a lighting technician for shows.
  • Adequate training in lighting and preferably in Electrotechnics.
  • Proficiency in Portuguese / English.
  • Programming with lighting software.
  • Configuration of networks for lighting control.
  • Technical Drawing in 2D and 3D applications.
  • Operation of light consoles.
  • Stock organization and management.
  • Work with heights.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
